Early model 'Pirkka' chairs designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Laukaan Puu Finland in 1955. A classic piece of Scandinavian design, the back and seat elements made from solid pine and the back stretchers and legs are in ebonised beech. This chair is very early in the production run and has the burned Laukaan Puu mark underneath the seat. (see photo) Later production was taken over by Asko and then Artek. 2 chairs available, both fully restored.
